Chiba National University Graduate School of Engineering Maeike「KSB浄化水溶液剤」demonstration blue-green algae compare experiment
Improving lake water quality, removing and suppressing blue-green algae, and restoring ecosystems

First test Experiment started on June 17, 2014~Experiment completed on August 31, 2014 [Chiba University Faculty of Engineering campus pond Experimental scale: approximately 25㎥]

After the experiment ended, due to the decrease in transparency after September 17, 2014(Confirmation of the effectiveness ofKSBpurification materials as the season approaches when the outside air temperature tends to be low)
Mid-October 2017 KSB浄化水溶液剤 100L the restoration of transparency was confirmed on February 1, 2016。

H26/6/17日 One year after purification with filtration equipment - KSB purification agent begins to be added
H26/9/17日 Purification complete
H27/1/10日 Status of experiment complete 4 months

The contents of this demonstration experiment are as follows:

  • This was a joint demonstration experiment conducted in collaboration with the Graduate School of Engineering at Chiba University, and was carried out in a pond located on the campus of Chiba University.
  • The first time, the system was implemented by adding KSB purification solution functional water to the carbon fiber water purification method.
  • In the second test, KSB purified water solution functional water was added and the pond water quality was improved by installing a simple filter and circulating the pond water.

The purification method was carried out by circulating the water in the pond while adding KSB purified aqueous solution functional water.

  • The necessary equipment was a storage tank (which will vary depending on the size of the lake or pond where the project will be carried out) to store the KSB purified water solution functional water.
  • The designed amount was quantitatively added using a metering pump.
  • The addition point was near the upstream point where the pond water was circulated, and the diffusion rate was measured, which proved to be effective.
  • The test was carried out by inserting a hose into the PVC pipe and extending the PVC pipe and hose from the metering pump to the point where the material was added.

The effect was that the water quality of the pond and the bottom mud of the pond changed from anaerobic to aerobic, and the activation of microorganisms enabled the removal of blue-green algae, creating an environment in which the water quality and bottom mud could live.

  • The water clarity has improved.
  • The habitat for fish and shellfish has been improved.
  • The mortality rate of fish and shellfish has decreased.
  • We were able to remove and control blue-green algae.
  • The occurrence of foul odors has been eliminated, and the surrounding air environment has been purified and improved.

The equipment cost was low, and the KSB purification solution added was a water quality improvement method with low running costs and easy operation.
The first and second evaluations demonstrated that the effects were highly reproducible.
